Finding a place to train

Nearby search sends the location you choose to our search service to calculate distances. We do not request background location access. Search requests still pass through our hosting provider, which may keep operational request logs.

Without an account, saved academies stay in your browser or on your phone. When you sign in to the mobile app, your email identifies your account and saved academies are stored privately with our Supabase service so they can sync across phones. Other visitors and academy owners cannot see your saved list. You can remove individual saves in the app and sign out from Profile. Signing in does not subscribe you to marketing emails.

Signing in with Google

If you choose Google sign-in, Google shares your email address and basic profile information, such as your name and profile picture, with our Supabase authentication service. We use this to create or sign in to your account. We do not request access to your Gmail messages, contacts, calendar or files.

Use the same email as your existing OpenMatNearMe account to keep access to your saved academies and owner permissions. Google sign-in does not grant ownership of an academy or subscribe you to marketing emails.

Attendance confirmations

When you confirm that you’re coming to a session, we share the name and optional note you provide with the academy’s primary owner by email. Your account email is included only if you choose to share it. Cancelling your attendance also sends a notification. Attendance is private and does not appear on your public profile or in search results.

You can review or cancel upcoming confirmations in Your upcoming visits. We remove attendance records and queued notifications during daily cleanup after 90 days past the session, or when you delete your account. Emails already delivered to an academy may remain in its inbox. Confirming attendance does not subscribe you to marketing email.

Deleting your account

Delete your OpenMatNearMe account from the website, or choose Delete account in the app’s Profile screen. Sign in again if requested, then confirm deletion.

Deletion removes your account, private saves, ownership requests, email preferences, uploaded gym photos and academy access. Public academy listings, schedules and business information remain, along with other owners’ access. A listing without any remaining owners becomes unclaimed.

We keep a one-way fingerprint of the email address to prevent future outreach to a deleted account. Delivered emails and copies in service-provider logs or backups may remain until their retention periods expire. Guest saves on other devices stay on those devices.

Improving the directory

We count searches, empty results, academy views, directions clicks and saves. Our measurement database does not store raw search text, precise visitor coordinates, email addresses or advertising identifiers. It keeps daily totals for about 90 days.

To prevent duplicate requests and limit abuse, a request ID and a daily rotating, hashed network identifier are removed after two days during daily cleanup. We do not store the original network address in this measurement database. Your browser’s Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control preference turns this measurement off.

Academy owners and submissions

Sign-in and ownership requests use your email to provide access and send operational messages. Your academy’s published fields are public. Private claim evidence, submission contact emails and internal review notes are available only to authorized reviewers. Your email communication preference can be changed from the owner dashboard.

Claiming a page and editing its information are free. Ownership verification is separate from any future paid offer.

We keep a private history of listing edits and resets, including the editing account, time and previous public values, so founders can correct mistakes and investigate reported changes. Deleting an account removes its identity from the grouped history; the public business information and dated changes can remain.
